Lucy Letby denies trying to harm babies in new trial

Ciaran Jenkins: The convicted serial child killer Lucy Letby has denied ever having murdered or harmed any babies, as she began giving evidence at her re-trial for alleged attempted murder of one baby.

Letby is accused of trying to kill a premature infant at the Countess of Chester Hospital, just two hours after she was born.

Last summer, she was convicted of murdering seven babies and the attempted murder of six others
