Lucy Letby inquiry: former manager gave ‘misleading’ statements

North of England Correspondent

A hospital executive has told the public inquiry into the crimes of child serial killer Lucy Letby that trust had “broken down” between doctors and nurses during investigations into deaths at the neonatal unit where she worked.

Alison Kelly was director of nursing when Letby attacked babies at the Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016.

She said she had “good intentions”, despite failing to escalate concerns about the nurse.
