‘Machines will fall silent’ – Textile businesses fear closure over soaring energy costs

As the new PM prepares to unveil her plan to limit energy price rises tomorrow, many businesses up and down the country are wondering whether they’ll see out the coming months.

In Leicester,  famous for its textiles industry, the soaring cost of electricity threatens to cripple many of the energy-intensive factories that provide jobs for thousands of people across the city.
