6mMaids Moreton murder verdict
An “evil” church warden is facing life imprisonment for the murder of a 69-year-old university lecturer.
Benjamin Field, 28, killed Peter Farqhar in order to inherit his house and money.
He also targeted Mr Farquhar’s elderly neighbour, Ann Moore-Martin, in the village of Maids Moreton, Buckinghamshire.
He admitted defrauding Ms Moore-Martin, who was in her 80s, but was cleared of attempting to murder her
. Senior investigating officer Mark Glover said: “I don’t think evil is too strong a word for him.”
