Man shot dead as protesters clash in Portland

A man has been shot dead in the US city of Portland in Oregon after Black Lives Matter demonstrators clashed with a convoy of pro-Trump supporters in the city centre.

Portland has seen nightly protests against racial injustice and police violence since the death of George Floyd back in May – although police haven’t said whether the shooting was directly linked to last night’s clashes between rival demonstrators.
