Manslaughter verdict for lorry deaths

The owner of a haulage company and his mechanic face long jail sentences, after a 32 tonne lorry with faulty brakes lost control on a hill – killing three men and a four-year-old girl.

Matthew Gordon and Peter Wood were found guilty of gross negligence manslaughter after the crash in Bath last year. But the lorry driver was cleared of dangerous and careless driving. Jane Deith reports.
