Mass arrests as pro-Navalny protests sweep Russia

Russian police have arrested more than 2,000 protestors who took to the streets across the country – demanding the release of the jailed opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

Several hundred thousand people took part in demonstrations from Moscow to Siberia and the far East, braving temperatures as low as -50C.
