May seeks smooth two-year Brexit transition

Can it be a new partnership? In her speech in Italy, Theresa May set out how the government wants to leave the EU. She offered new ways to develop the UK’s relationship with Europe, among them a two-year transition period, a “creative” approach to trade, and payments into the EU budget until 2021.  Will it be enough to break the deadlock in the Brexit negotiations and how will it play with all sides?
