Ministers have been told that after the European summit at the end of this week there will effectively be only six weeks’ negotiating time left to finalise the Brexit deal. The agreement is supposed to be signed off at the next summit in October, but with Brussels officials taking their summer holidays, time is running out.
If that wasn’t enough pressure on Theresa May, some of her cabinet ministers seems to be adding more, by publicly championing competing views on a whole range of subjects. So whatever happened to collective cabinet responsibility?
