More than 100 schools in England ordered to close buildings due to unsafe concrete

The Education Secretary Gillian Keegan tonight defended her ‘cautious approach’, hours after causing consternation amongst teachers, parents and pupils in England a matter of days before the start of term.

Labour and teaching unions rounded on the government, with the National Education Union describing the situation as “absolutely disgraceful”.
