More than 6.6 million Americans register for unemployment benefits in one week

In the United States, a further 6.6 million people have registered for unemployment benefit in the past week. Ten per cent of America’s workers have lost their jobs since the Covid-19 shutdown started.

The President has said there is light at the end of the tunnel, but New York has seen another record death toll.
