MP Sir David Amess: Grenfell fire safety tests must be transparent

Conservative MP Sir David Amess says he will be raising the potential conflict of interest revealed by Channel 4 News with appropriate ministers “as a matter of urgency”.

The joint Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Fire Safety and Rescue said without transparency, there’s a danger the public will lose confidence in the whole thing.

Channel 4 News asked the government, the testing body and the company involved for interviews – they declined.
