M&S and Ocado to start home delivery service 

Marks and Spencer was founded in the 19th century, Ocado in the 21st. Today, these very different businesses came together in a multi-billion pound joint venture, using Ocado’s hi-tech knowledge to deliver M&S food.

But will it help either of them in the ferocious battle between British retailers? Clearly the Surrey earthquake was not the only tremor to shake middle- class England today.
