Multiple celebrations cancelled as Britain gets ready for 2025

From New Zealand to Kuala Lumpur, parts of the world have already been welcoming in the new year with sumptuous firework displays and light shows.

But not Scotland, where bad weather has forced outdoor events in Edinburgh to be cancelled.

The organisers of London’s fireworks say the show will go on.
