It’s taken 36 years, but the Metropolitan Police has now admitted its investigation into the brutal murder of Daniel Morgan was “marred by a cycle of corruption, professional incompetence and defensiveness”.
The private investigator was killed with an axe in south London 36 years ago, just as he was about to expose police corruption, according to his family.
They’ve been fighting for justice ever since, and have finally received a public apology and financial settlement.
