The UN has condemned an airstrike carried out earlier this week by the Myanmar military, which is feared to have killed almost 100 civilians including children.
Witnesses in the village, in northwest Myanma, say it was deliberately targeted as a crowd gathered for the opening ceremony at a local opposition office.
Opponents of the regime described it as a brutal and senseless attack and the UN has called on the junta to end what they call a “campaign of violence against the Myanmar population”.
