Netanyahu rejects calls for developing Palestinian state after Gaza war

A spokesperson for the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has insisted there can be “no security and stability in the region” without the creation of a Palestinian state. It follows remarks by the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu – who rejected US calls to begin developing a Palestinian state after the Gaza war.

This is despite President Biden reiterating his strong conviction for a two-state solution. With no let up in the fighting in Gaza – there’s also been violence in the occupied West Bank.
