Netanyahu ‘survival’ depends on ‘expanding war’ says head of Palestinian National Initiative

The United Nations Security Council is scheduled to vote on a Palestinian request for full UN membership on Friday.

Israel’s ally, the US, is expected to block the move because it would effectively recognise a Palestinian state. It comes as the UN appeals for more than £2.2 billion to help people in Gaza and the West Bank until the end of the year.

The British delegation today said that when it comes to humanitarian aid for Gaza, the conversation between David Cameron and Benjamin Netanyahu was the best they’ve ever had – with a change in tone from Israel over allowing more aid in and for it to be moved around.
