New project helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds perform Shakespeare

The actor and director Sir Mark Rylance has lent his support to a new project, which helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to perform Shakespeare.

The Intermission Youth theatre charity aims to make the Bard’s work relevant to modern-day life, exploring issues from the pandemic to Black Lives matter.

They’re currently working on a new adaptation of Midsummer Night’s Dream at London’s Chelsea Theatre.
