The number of young children who have to be treated in hospital for the winter virus RSV could be slashed by more than 80% – if babies get a single dose of a new antibody treatment.
A trial involving thousands of children under 5 – shows there’s a steep drop in hospitalisations for the virus in those who were given the jab, as well as a 58% fall in hospital admissions for all chest infections.
