New Zealand PM’s ‘relief’ as Christchurch killer sentenced to life in prison without parole

“Today I hope is the last where we have any cause to hear or utter the name of the terrorist behind it.”

Those are the words of the Prime Minister of New Zealand today as Brenton Tarrant was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder of 51 worshippers at two mosques in Christchurch last March.

It’s the first time the country has imposed such a sentence. There were emotional scenes in court.
