Thousands of lower limb amputations a year could be prevented – according to new research into a condition called peripheral artery disease.
A new report says the NHS could save millions of pounds if it avoided preventable amputations – which can be devastating to patients and their families. To boost awareness – the acclaimed photographer Rankin has taken portraits of some of the amputees who’ve been through this life changing experience.
