NI Protocol: ‘good progress’ but deal not over the line, says UK and EU

If the signals from Belfast yesterday were that a deal was imminent, the message from Munich was one of caution.

Although Rishi Sunak and Ursula Von Der Leyen both agreed ‘very good progress’ had been made on the Northern Ireland Protocol, an issue which has paralysed power-sharing and toxified Britain’s relationship with the EU, the prime minister was clear that the deal is not yet over the line.
