No evidence of corruption linked to controversial Teesworks regeneration project, inquiry finds

An independent inquiry has found no evidence of corruption or illegal activities linked to the controversial Teesworks regeneration project.

The Conservative Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen, who led the body overseeing the development,  has been cleared of any impropriety.

But the review criticised “areas of weak governance” associated with the project, as well as issues with transparency and accountability.
