North Korea claims missile test success

North Korea has claimed it is now a fully-fledged nuclear power that can target anywhere in the world. It follows a successful  test of its first intercontinental ballistic missile. The timing, on US Independence Day, may well have been deliberate. State television in Pyongyang said the rocket flew 1,700 miles in 39 minutes before landing in the Sea of Japan. Russia and China have now urged North Korea to “freeze” its missile and nuclear programmes.
