Nottingham attack: Man arrested after three people killed

Horror in Nottingham unfolded in a matter of hours after a brutal attack – making sense of it may take much longer.

It began at 4am – the bodies of two young students found stabbed to death.

Then, chaos in the city centre after a van drove into three people – critically injuring one of them.

A short while later a third body was  discovered.

Police are working with counter terrorism officers as is normal, they say, with such incidents.

And, that they are keeping an open mind about the motive for a string of violent attacks which has left three people dead and a city reeling.

One man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
