Nurses strikes: walkouts affect half of all hospitals in England

Thousands of nurses are out on strike until midnight tonight, with the walkouts by members of the Royal College of Nursing affecting half of all hospital trusts in England.

For the first time staff working in departments like intensive care  have joined the industrial action – with hospital bosses warning of long delays for treatment – and disruption to services.
