On the frontline of Ukraine’s artillery battles (dubbed)

NATO has pledged to send Kyiv more heavy weapons as the war in Ukraine heads into its first winter, a war which is becoming increasingly focused on artillery and tanks.

Ukrainian troops continue to defend positions around Bakhmut , where both Ukrainians and Russians are sustaining heavy casualties.

Our international editor Lindsey Hilsum has been to the front line close to that strategic town and spoken to the soldiers manning the guns.
