Sarah Storey wins her fourth and final gold of the London 2012 Paralympic Games in the cycling road race.
Storey was racing in the individual C4-C5 road race, for the least physically impaired cyclists, her fourth and final race of the Games. She dominated the race from the beginning and, at the halfway stage, was four minutes ahead of her nearest rival – the USA’s Kelly Crowley.
At 40km of the 62km race Storey had extended her lead to six and a half minutes and with 8km left to race Storey was seven minutes ahead. She won the race in a time of 1:40:36.
Storey has now won gold in every 2012 event she has taken part in. It was her eleventh gold medal overall, equalling the record of Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.
And @mrssarahstorey wins her 11th gold medal. Congratulations !!!!!

Storey’s previous gold medals were in the 500m time-trial and the pursuit in the velodrome, and in the road time-trial which took place yesterday.
ParalmypicsGb’s Crystal Lane, in her Paralympic debut, finished in sixth.
Racing at the same time today in the C1-C3 men’s road race was Mark Colbourne and Shaun McKeown, but both failed to make a podium finish, coming in 24th and 21st respectively. Earlier today Jon-Allan Butterworth dropped out of the C4-C5 road race on lap four, citing fatigue as the reason.
