‘People deserve to go to prison’ over Post Office scandal says former subpostmaster

We are joined by Janet Skinner, a former sub-postmaster who was sent to prison over an alleged £59,000 discrepancy in her branch accounts.

Despite being innocent, she pleaded guilty to false accounting in the hope of avoiding that jail term.

She later lost her house and suffered such a complete physical breakdown following a further threat of prison that she suffered a period of paralysis and spent four months in hospital.
