Police criticised for revealing ‘unnecessary’ personal information in search for Nicola Bulley

North of England Correspondent

Police have been criticised for the “avoidable and unnecessary” release of sensitive personal information during the investigation into the disappearance of Nicola Bulley.

Ms Bulley’s body was found in the River Wyre, almost a month after she went missing.

A review found that the way Lancashire Police had handled the search, and their communications, had led to a “breakdown of public confidence”.
