Police officer facing criminal charges after being accused of misleading public inquiry

A senior police officer is facing criminal charges after being accused of misleading a public inquiry. The police watchdog looked at evidence from Great Manchester’s Assistant Chief Constable Steve Heywood about an operation in which an unarmed man was shot dead. Now the IOPC has decided that what he did could amount to a criminal offence.
