Political leaders from the North of England have called for increased investment in the region’s transport network, saying that it will help it to reach its economical potential.

Tracy Brabin, the Labour mayor of West Yorkshire, was one of the speakers at the annual Transport for the North conference in Newcastle.  She began by giving a sense of her own experience commuting in the north.
