It hasn’t been the best week for the Conservatives: from the betting allegations to rows between MPs, Rishi Sunak’s popularity rating has just hit an all time low.

Many young people feel politically powerless and disengaged. They think politicians either don’t listen to them or don’t really care.  And they are increasingly turning to social media platforms for their news.

Rishi Sunak has refused to say how many Tory insiders are under investigation for allegedly placing bets on the general election date – although he said anyone who had broken the rules would be “booted out”.
