Potential for ‘some immune evasion’ in Omicron Covid variant, UN senior researcher says

We spoke to Dr Vicky Baillie, a senior researcher at the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Analytics research unit at Wits University in South Africa.

She’s also part of Team Halo, a UN-backed initiative to fight Covid vaccine misinformation on social media.

We began by asking her if she believed the Omicron variant of the virus is much more virulent than the Delta variant.
