Presidential election choice between two visions of France, says author

The polls in Paris are due to close at 20:00 BST and everyone is poised for the early exit results to find out who has won this hotly contested election – Emmanuel Macron or Marine Le Pen – an election which has exposed bitter divisions in the country.
