Prime Minister open to ‘affordable’ pay deal with nurses

Rishi Sunak says he is open to an “affordable” deal over nurses pay – although that won’t avert planned strike action later this month – unions say it will still go ahead unless there’s a compromise over the current year’s pay deal.

Unions will meet the Health Secretary tomorrow, to discuss the settlement for the next financial year. The Royal College of Nursing said it was important for the Prime Minister to “meet half way”.
