Prisons battle against coronavirus

As the pandemic took hold, Britain’s prisons found themselves on the frontline.

The government promised steps to keep prisoners safe. But plans to release some of them early were paused last week and now this programme has seen a leaked internal document saying numbers in England and Wales are too high to control the risk of Covid-19.
