Once Russia’s richest man, following some high profile clashes with Mr Putin, he ended up spending a decade behind bars before going into exile in the West.
Having made billions buying up oil fields following the collapse of the Soviet Union, the oligarch insists that his various trials and imprisonment were punishment for funding political parties which opposed President Putin.
