This week will live long in the memory of Afghanistan, a country pivotal to the history of the region.

Before we came on air, we spoke to Peter Frankopan, the best selling author of The Silk Roads, which argued that eurocentric history fails to do justice to the importance of central Asia.

We asked him how momentous the last few days have been.
