Republican ‘red wave’ fails to materialise in midterms

Democrats did better than expected in many key midterm races and the final outcome won’t emerge for days.

We spent last night at a party for Republican candidate Yesli Vega in Virginia.

She was tipped to steal a seat in the house from the incumbent Democrat.

In the end, she failed, in a very tight race – like so many others across the country.
