Residents fight police in China covid lockdown protests

As China’s leader Xi Jinping meets and greets world leaders at the G20 in Bali, at home tensions are boiling over in response to the country’s ongoing zero-Covid policy.

Protests are not a common sight in China but overnight, residents of the southern city of Guangzhou clashed with police as they tried to escape lockdown.
