Revealed: 796 homeless deaths in UK in last 18 months – many from preventable causes

For more than a year we have been working with the Bureau of Investigative Journalism to chart the number of deaths of the homeless. We can reveal that at least 796 have died in the last 18 months – that’s a rate of 11 each week.

The youngest was just 18. And as this exclusive report shows, one third of them are dying from preventable causes.
