Rishi Sunak declared Britain’s next prime minister

Rishi Sunak has been announced as the UK’s next prime minister.

Chair of the 1922 Committee , Sir Graham Brady, declared that Mr Sunak had passed the threshold of 100 nominations from Conservative MPs, while both Boris Johnson and Penny Mourdant pulled out the contest.
