RRS Sir David Attenborough and Boaty McBoatface set for first polar expedition

Britain’s new polar research ship was given a send-off in London today.

This is the ship which the public, when polled, wanted to call Boaty McBoatface.

That was overruled, in favour of the more regal-sounding RRS Sir David Attenborough.

Sir David visited his namesake this morning, using the event as a call to action ahead of the COP26 summit.
