Rwanda asylum seeker policy does not withstand ‘judgement of God’, says Archbishop

Home Secretary Priti Patel’s plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda doesn’t withstand ‘the judgement of God’, according to the Archbishop of Canterbury.

In his Easter Sermon, Justin Welby accused the government of “sub-contracting out its responsibilities”.

He wasn’t the only religious leader to mention the immigration policy today, as more doubts emerged about the proposed policy from within the Civil Service.
