Sadiq Khan widens Ulez scrappage scheme to all Londoners

The extension of the ultra low emission zone in London, designed to improve air quality in the capital by charging £12.50 a day to drivers of older polluting cars, has become something of a thorny issue for Labour following last month’s by-elections.

Keir Starmer asked the London Labour mayor, Sadiq Khan to “reflect” on the policy following the party’s failure to win the outer London seat of Uxbridge. Today Sadiq Khan announced a number of changes to the scheme.
