She may have played a virtual assistant in the film ‘Her’, but Scarlett Johansson is not happy that ‘Sky’ – one of the voices of OpenAI’s new chatbot – sounds “eerily similar” to her.

The chatbot was meant to herald a revolutionary new chapter in the development of Artificial Intelligence – a virtual assistant with conversational skills and a lifelike voice.

But OpenAI has now removed Sky, after the actress said she’d been forced to hire lawyers. Siobhan Kennedy takes up the story.
