Settled status fee for EU nationals waived

As she updated MPs on her Brexit plans, Theresa May announced she’s scrapping the £65 fee for EU citizens to apply for so-called “settled status”. This was on the very day the government launched its scheme to register an estimated 3.5 million EU citizens living in the UK. There are fears that many people, particularly the elderly, may struggle with the application process.
