Seventeen year old girl killed in east London stabbing

The seventeen year old girl stabbed to death in east London becomes the fifth teenager to be stabbed to death in London so far this year.
But it is not a crime confined to the capital.

Research published by The Times newspaper today shows violent crime surging outside London. Earlier this week, police in Birmingham said they had recorded a staggering 269 knife-related incidents since the beginning of this year.
